Forget Paris! I love CAROLINA in the springtime.
One thing that this part of the country does better than Texas is the early springtime. It is painful for me to admit that anywhere could be better than Texas at any time, but it's true. The beauty of all of the blossoming trees is incredible! Sometimes as I walk through campus I am showered by tiny flower petals falling from the trees. At our house we have four camelia trees, two are bright pink and two are snowy white, and they have been blooming since February. We also have several azalea bushes in the front yard that are just starting to flower. Beautiful!
We also want to wish everyone a happy Easter! We attended Easter services at the church we've been visiting, Shandon UMC. Later this evening we'll join several of our friends for Easter dinner at our friends Susan and Catherine's house. I'm briging cheese grits and Hello Dollies.
Finlay didn't quite make it to church this morning, and he was too distracted to appear in the Easter "family portrait," but he didn't want to be left out entirely. Here he is modeling the new tie Nick got for Easter. Shockingly, he looks pretty happy!
Happy Easter everyone!

How 'Bout Them Bears!
Yesterday Nick and I along with several of our good friends celebrated St. Patrick's Day in Five Points. For you Waco folks, it was kind of like Brazos River Festival downtown. It was a blast until a big storm rolled through and rained out the festival.

Nick and I with our green beer
Maybe it was the green beer we drank yesterday, but Nick and I found ourselves in an optimistic mood this evening during the NCAA selection show. While we had to wait until the very last team was announced to learn our fate, we were elated to hear that the Baylor Bears would be playing in the tournament this year! If the Bears make it until Saturday we will do our very best to make it up to DC on Saturday to cheer them on in our green and gold.
Here's to a great weekend and wishing everyone a good week.

THE BEACH
I just got back form my first Spring Break at the beach ever. Although it wasn't as warm as the SB I spend in Scottsdale, AZ in college, it was definitely warm enough to hang out on the beach and get some sun! Some of my best friends here got together and stayed at a family beach house owned by the grandmother of my friend Kelly. It's a little south of Myrtle Beach in Surfside Beach, SC.
I came back a little sunburned, but with some great memories of my friends before they all take off for their big, real-world careers. It also reminded me of some of my favorite times growing up at the Colvin family summers in Galveston. I went on a few beach walks, picked up some pretty shells for my collection (but couldn't find any whole sand dollars!), even saw a few jellyfish. The water was unfortunately too cold to play wave-busters. I hope that Nick and I will get to make at least one trip to the beach this summer, maybe then the water will be a bit warmer.
This weekend we'll be celebrating St. Pat's in Five Points so we'll bring back some pictures for you. Have a great weekend everyone!

We're Sorry!
We're sorry that it's been over a week since our last blog. We've been pretty busy this week!Things at Lindsay's office have actually been really crazy for about the last month - she's had a major project each week for the last three weeks running on top of a student body election and a run-off election. This, in addition to school work and spending time with Nick and Fin, has left her little time to blog. We'll try to start being good again, though, with this post.
Here's a quick run-down of things of note this week: I (Lindsay) planned and produced the 2007-2008 Student Government Banquet, held on Wednesday, which honored all the students who participated in SG this year. Although there were a few hiccups, it all went pretty well. On Friday we hung out at our friends Rachel and Timmy's apartment, where I learned to play Wii (and kicked Nick's butt at bowling). Last night we baby-sat again for my boss's twins so that she and her husband could have a romantic night on the town. We had a blast - got to watch Finding Nemo twice - and I changed my first dirty diaper ever. Nice.
This morning we took a walk with Fin. Here's the picture I promised. Hope y'all are having a great weekend!
